North Park Bridge, Grand Rapids – This project included the preparation of an Environmental Assessment to replace an existing historic bridge. Moore & Bruggink teamed with Hazlet & Erdal for the bridge design. Moore & Bruggink provided all necessary surveying, bridge approach design, including four lane road reconstruction to the west, and a major four and five lane relocated intersection on the east approach; all private and public utility relocations, property mapping, right-of-way acquisition, public hearings, traffic design, public relations and contacts. Moore & Bruggink also worked hand in hand with the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Natural Resources, and various neighborhood and historical groups. Upon removal, the original bridge was placed in a local park.
