Expansion and maintenance of road systems can impact the economic balance of communities large and small. Moore & Bruggink's strategic planning and
fund- acquisition experience helps municipal leaders and private developers identify and draw together partners and resources that bring projects to fruition.
This $2 million, two-part project in the City of Allegan was funded by a combination of MDOT TEDF Category A Grant, Jobs Commission CDBG Grant, and a local match of Township funds. The project improved access to the Perrigo Company and several other local expanding companies.
Part A: 26th Street and 114th Avenue from M-89 to the Allegan City
limits. Resurfacing of an existing badly- deteriorated roadway, replacement of a deteriorating culvert, replacement of deteriorating guardrails, paving of shoulders, and upgrade of the M-89 / 26th Street intersection to include turning lanes.
Part B: 118th Avenue from A-37 to Babylon Road, A-37 from the Allegan City limits to 118th Avenue. The reconstruction of 118th Avenue from A-37 to Babylon Road, including the upgrade of the gravel portion of this road to a paved surface after horizontal and vertical alignment improvements. The project included the acquisition of
right- of-way to improve the horizontal and vertical alignment of the Babylon / 118th Avenue intersection. The project also included the resurfacing of the roadway and paving of the shoulders on A-37.
