Waste
Water Treatment Facility, City of Grandville – Moore & Bruggink has provided engineering services to the City of Grandville since the wastewater treatment plant was originally constructed in 1963. The plant capacity is 4.4 MGD. It is an activated sludge secondary treatment plant with a tertiary polishing pond. Sludge stabilization is provided by both aerobic and anaerobic digestion. Moore & Bruggink provided design and construction engineering for the 1972 and 1988 expansions. Since then, we have provided engineering services for a 2.5 MG sludge storage tank in 1991. In 1995, we designed a new 3500 GPM raw sewage pump station and 20" forcemain to divert excess wastewater to a neighboring WWTP. In 1999, Moore & Bruggink designed and provided construction engineering services to improve the fine bubble aeration system, improved sludge pumping, rebuild of two final clarifiers, add new communitors and a new SCADA control system. In 2000, Moore & Bruggink provided all engineering services for sulfide odor control at the diversion pump station. In 2001, we completed a project to replace chlorination with ultraviolet disinfection. Currently, we are completing a major electrical renovation of the plant which will provide three standby generators to power the plant during electrical power outages.
