Moore & Bruggink provided the grant writing for successfully securing a MDOT Transportation Enhancement grant for this project to augment the Meijer Foundation Grant and is now providing the design and construction engineering for this $2.5 million 10.5 mile trail in West Michigan.
This trail provides connectivity between the Kent Trails, greater Grand Rapids and trail networks east and north, with the future Macatawa Greenway Trail and trail networks west in Holland and Zeeland and along the Lakeshore. This community project also provides for the safety and recreation of the local citizens of Jamestown and Zeeland Townships, allowing pedestrians, bicyclists and all types of recreationalists a safe way to travel the community roadways. It provides a local trail network connecting schools, parks, residential areas and businesses.
The trail consists of 10' asphalt paved trail, 5' paved shoulders along 48th Avenue, 14' wide boardwalks and prefabricated bridges in environmentally sensitive areas and 5' sidewalks in the residential section of downtown Jamestown.
