INDIAN MILL CREEK SEWER IMPROVEMENTS, CONTRACT NO. 2 -- Moore & Bruggink provided design and construction engineering, surveying and construction inspection for this project that increases the capacity of a major trunk sewer in several communities in the northwest area of the Grand Rapids Sewer System. This trunk sewer includes 11,000 feet of new sanitary sewer ranging in size from 30" to 42" from Tamarack Avenue to south of Three Mile Road in Walker. Also included is 14,000 feet of maintenance road along the new sewer alignment. The project included design meetings with City staff, neighborhood meetings and construction progress meetings. Challenges included acquisition of numerous easements, construction in environmentally sensitive areas, several crossings of the city’s 46" Lake Michigan Plant watermain feed and extensive dewatering along Indian Mill Creek.
